In the summer transfer window, FC Porto wants the entire release clause for Alan Varela, a midfield target for Manchester City and Liverpool.

The 22-year-old defensive midfielder’s performances this season have drawn the attention of other clubs.

has been monitoring him as Pep Guardiola gets ready to look to expand his midfield options in the next summer.

Liverpool has also been monitoring him closely and has sent scouts to observe him in action.

 

Varela has been drawing interest, and Porto is aware of it. According to French publication Foot Mercato, they have a firm stance on the midfield player.

The present deal of the Argentine midfield player includes a release clause valued at €70 million.

 

Before agreeing to let him depart during the summer window, Porto wants to get payment for the entire release clause.

Boca Juniors would also be due a considerable fee as they negotiated a sell-on clause when they sold Varela to Porto.

 

Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain are also believed to be interested in the midfielder.
