  1. Following one of Spencer Dinwiddie’s best games as a Laker, his coaches and teammates agreed that they would need that guard for the remainder of the season.

Nobody’s expectations for Spencer Dinwiddie’s time in Los Angeles have come true. With Gabe Vincent sidelined for the majority of the season, the Lakers were hoping for some offensive playmaking and ball handling from the guard, who entered as their top buyout signing.

Rather, his primary and rare contributions to the Lakers have been made from the other side of the court. The Lakers didn’t need another guard who prioritized defense, even if he contributed to one of the biggest victories of the season with his defense. This resulted in his recent remarks during practice where he stated he was playing in a “Reggie Bullock role” with Spencer Dinwiddie expectations. He later emphasized that this was not a frustrated statement, but rather an attempt to express how he felt. But Friday offered a glimpse of what the Lakers had hoped for in Dinwiddie’s signing. With three 3-pointers in an 11-point performance, the guard had his best game of the year and helped the Lakers grind out a victory.

Everyone on the squad, including Darvin Ham and Dinwiddie’s teammates, acknowledged this after the game that this is the Dinwiddie the team needs to succeed. “We have complete faith that he can succeed,” Ham remarked. Once more, all he needs to do is get to know his teammates, establish a rhythm, figure out where to be on the court, and just go into attack mode. With every game, he seems to be growing more at ease.

He is receiving encouragement from everyone around him because we will need him and he will be involved. Just for him, have faith in yourself and keep learning everything you can so that you have corporate knowledge and everything will work out smoothly in due course.
