Roosters’ Bunker overreacted in the send-off and sin bin.

The Friday night match between the Bulldogs and Roosters featured a lot of flashpoints.

Trent Robinson has charged that the NRL’s bunker overreached when he sin-binned Victor Radley and sent Dom Young off during the Sydney Roosters’ thrilling defeat to Canterbury.

On Friday night, the Roosters came very close to achieving the second-largest comeback in NRL history, even though they ended the 30-26 loss with just 11 players on the field.

After Young was sent off for a high shot on Blake Taaffe in the first half, Radley was sin-binned in the last minute for what appeared to be a hip-drop tackle on Stephen Crichton.Robinson, who has charged that the bunker does not shield his players from high shots, was irritated by both calls.

Blake is not going to be well after (Dom) punched him hard. That’s not what you want to see,” Robinson remarked.

“It wasn’t a flailing arm; instead, it struck him in the jaw. It was given freely. It was not as high as the shoulders.

It’s acceptable if that is the norm. That’s new to me, though. That seems like a lower number than what has previously been sent off.

It’s unquestionably a sin bin. Blake suffered a concussion as a result. However, there have been instances of players staying on the field for (worse).

“That seemed a little excessive. There will be a lot more send-offs in our game if they announce that “Rightio that’s the new (level).”

The Radley sin bin, which appeared with the Roosters fighting back at 30–20, infuriated Robinson even more.

Considering that ball-carrier Stephen Crichton had been brought to the ground by Connor Watson, the tackle did not seem to fulfill several of the signs of a hip drop.

Robinson remarked, “The (Radley) one was ridiculous.”

“It’s Connor who attacks Crichton from behind, twisting his ankle, causing Radley to trip over it.

It’s amazing how they arrived to that conclusion. That wasn’t up to par.”

Cameron Ciraldo, the Canterbury coach, concurred, saying the decision was “harsh”.

“Mishaps occur. And we’ve experienced them firsthand a couple times,” Ciraldo remarked. So I’ve got sympathy for a bloke who gets sent to the sin bin for hip drops.”

Beyond Young and Radley, the Roosters are guaranteed to be without Sam Walker and James Tedesco against Newcastle on Thursday after both suffered concussions.

Walker was OK in the dressing room after, but Robinson said Tedesco was “getting his memory back” at halftime.
