So sad: I might not Hands”: Miami Heat Star Jimmy Butler Commented On His Injury Update
On Wednesday night’s loss to the Philadelphia 76ers, Jimmy Butler the Miami Heat star suffered an MCL injury, sidelining him from Friday’s win-or-go-home matchup against the Chicago Bulls.
The Heat shared on Thursday that Butler sustained a right MCL sprain and won’t play Friday in the NBA play-in tournament game against the Chicago Bulls.
Butler’s MCL injury came in the first quarter when 76ers forward Kelly Oubre Jr. landed awkwardly on his leg and on the Heat’s injury update post he called out Oubre.
On the IG post, while tagging the 76ers standout, he commented “We throwing hands”. He ended the game with 19 points on 5 of 18 shooting in 40 minutes.
This season, Butler averaged 20.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 5.0 assists per game on 49.9% shooting from the floor and 41.4% shooting from beyond the arc.
The six-time All-Star shared after Wednesday’s loss,“It felt like I couldn’t do too much, which sucks with the timing of the game and everything. I hope that I’m fine. I hope that I wake up tomorrow and can still stick and move. Right now, I can’t stay, that’s the case.”
Butler’s injury turned out to be more severe than expected and will miss Miami’s second Pay-In Tournament game against the Bulls on Friday.
If the Heat wins over the Bulls on Friday, they will be facing against the one-seeded Boston Celtics in Round 1 of the East playoffs, which begin on Sunday at TD Garden.
