2024 NRL Transfer Center: Storm grant significant extension, Lomax nears finalizing mega-Eels deal, and Roosters add young star

The signing of prop Terrell May to a two-year contract by the Sydney Roosters represents another step in the right direction towards securing their long-term front row.

May, who will not be under contract at the end of this year, will stay at Bondi through at least the end of 2026. Last month, there had been rumors that May may leave the Roosters, especially if he could play with his brother Taylan.

However, Terrell’s decision to resign with the Tricolours was made possible by winger Taylan’s choice to remain at Penrith. The composition of the Roosters pack didn’t seem apparent too long ago because Jared Waerea-Hargreaves was scheduled to leave for England at the end of the season. However, they have now secured May for an additional two years, having extended Lindsay Collins’ contract to the end of 2028 within the last week.

May declared, “I’m really happy that my future with the Roosters is sorted.” “I’m thankful for the chance to represent the red, white, and blue for another two years. I love being a part of the team here.”

With an average of 126 meters per game this season, May has enjoyed the best year of his career.

Additionally, after enticing forward Spencer Leniu away from Penrith for this season, the Roosters suspended Leniu, who signed till the end of 2025.

Zac Lomax, the outstanding outside back for St George Illawarra, is expected to sign a $2.6 million contract to relocate to Western Sydney, making his status as a Parramatta player all but certain.
